The parcel of the
land is marked with large California live oak trees with smaller
oaks, redwoods and pines edging the property. There was a long,
low ranch style tract house on the property and the owners wanted
to keep as much of its 2800 square feet as possible. We created
a new center of the house consisting of a remodeled living room,
dining room and modernized kitchen. We marked the entry with a
gabled porch and added a new 900 square foot master bedroom wing,
with bathroom, sauna, laundry, generous closet and semiprivate
deck with a spa. The design evokes the notion of the simplicity
of country living and fulfills the ultimate vision of the house
where the owners would retire. |
