LAKEHILL RESIDENCE
Located on the large unimproved lot on a heavily forested mountain, the house was located next to the forest at the foot of the hill. This placement has a great view of the distant lake in the southerly direction. The orientation is important to be able to open the house towards the south and provide some passive solar heating. The septic field was located in the adjacent forest, which required some clearing of sizeable trees to be later used in construction. The focal point of the house is the custom built stone Rumford fireplace dominating the two-story loft space.
