THE SEA RANCH EMPLOYEE HOUSING
The Sea Ranch Housing complex designed by William Turnbull Associates realizes the original intention to create a small village at the north end of the Sea Ranch. The landscape is filled in as needed with small pines, so buildings and trees make new outdoor rooms. Units are constructed of a heavy timber frame in the tradition of the first Sea Ranch condominium. The units were combined to vary building masses: two-bedroom units become duplexes and provide maximum variety between long and short, high and low, wide and narrow forms. The new complex allows as much individuality as possible and creates a planned village that complements its Sea Ranch setting. Tomas Frank as project architect played a significant role in the design, management, and execution of this project.
