SYBASE ENGINEERING CAMPUS
Emeryville, California
The site of Sybase’s planned Hollis Street campus was a full city block in Emeryville. The development consisted of a new two story office building containing a mezzanine and the conversion single story industrial Ryerson building by infilling two additional stories of office space as well as cafeteria, conference center, library and convenience services. It also included 6 level 330,000 S.F. open parking garage. The team of designers including RMW and WTA responded to the challenges and created an exciting campus which was enthusiastically approved by the city of Emeryville but was not built due to the Sybase stock collapse. Tomas Frank was a design consultant to the project team.
