The building contains two condominium units: the owner's two-story indoor garden unit and a flat tucked beneath it. The garden is full of vegetation surrounded by the translucent building envelope. The street side responds to the owner's desire for a protected fortress-like entry and is relatively closed stucco box, which encloses the garage. The sidewalls are translucent Kalwall panels which allow light to shine both in and out. The South wall is almost entirely glass and slides back so that the interior house is oven to the ocean when weather permits. Tomas Frank managed this project for William Turnbull Associates.
