TRUNECEK RESIDENCE
Velka Ohrada, Czech Republic

The building is replacing a dilapidated family farm returned in restitution which stood on the Village Square and whose vernacular forms are recalled in the new design. Behind perimeter masonry walls is a central atrium with retractable glazed roof. The atrium is surrounded by the glazed wooden construction of offices, an apartment for parents and a main residence. The basement, accessible by a freight elevator, will be used as a warehouse. The heart of the building is the two-story living room with the fireplace and the main stair leading to bedrooms upstairs.
