The county of Alameda runs a commercial facade improvement program to provide forgivable loans to building owners and tenants wishing to complete storefront improvement projects. These projects can include repainting, new lighting, parapet modifications, replacing or adding signs, and other facade improvements. The program also covers costs associated with landscaping and parking lot renovation.
To date we have designed two storefronts through the program. By working closely with the owners requirements and city program guidelines, we have submitted designs that provide enhance use for building owners, while fitting into the larger renovation of commercial corridors and in the neighborhood business districts of the redevelopment areas of Alameda County. |
